1969 Math Trick

1969 is arguably the best year ever.

The United States of America sent men to the moon.  TWICE.

The first episode of Sesame Street aired.

Muscle cars.  Lots of them.  Like the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard.

I was born.

ARPANet was created (the precursor to the Internet).

I was born.

How much more proof do you need?  I could go on and on and but you’re here for the math trick:

The 1969 Math Trick

This is how it works: take any number between 50 and 1,000 and add it to 1,969.  Let’s try it with 365:

+  365

Strike out the thousands digit and add it to the remaining number:

+      2

Now subtract your last result from your original number:
